A delightful twist on traditional French toast, these cinnamon roll bites are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served with fresh berries and maple syrup.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Carefully open the cinnamon roll dough can, release the rolls, and cut each roll into quarters. Place these pieces in a large mixing bowl.
In a separate medium-sized bowl, vigorously whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and maple syrup until the mixture is creamy and well blended.
Pour the luscious egg mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces, then gently toss to ensure all the bites are evenly coated with the mixture.
In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once it’s bubbling but not browned, add a portion of the coated cinnamon roll bites to the skillet. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown, then carefully flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until both sides are beautifully crisp.
Transfer the golden bites to your prepared baking sheet, and repeat the frying process with the remaining pieces until they are all perfectly cooked.
Pop the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bites are puffed up and a delightful golden hue appears.
Allow them to cool slightly for a minute to retain softness, then liberally dust the bites with powdered sugar. Serve warm, elegantly garnished with fresh berries and an extra drizzle of maple syrup on top for that sweet finishing touch.
Notes
