2largeGranny Smith apples, peeled and diced into small pieces
1cupgranulated sugar
1tablespoonground cinnamon
1tablespoonfresh lemon juice
1cupcaramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1packagerefrigerated crescent roll dough
1teaspoonpure vanilla extract
1tablespoonmelted butter
to tastesea salt, for sprinkling
optionalwhipped cream, for serving
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss the apple pieces gently until they are evenly coated in the sweet and fragrant mixture. Set this apple filling aside to allow the flavors to meld.
On a clean, flat surface, unroll the crescent roll dough. Carefully separate the dough into individual triangles along the perforated lines to create the bombs.
Take a generous tablespoon of the apple mixture and place it at the wider end of each dough triangle. Drizzle approximately half a teaspoon of caramel sauce over the apple filling for that gooey goodness.
To form the bomb, fold the sides of the triangle over the filling, then roll up from the wide end towards the pointed tip. Pinch the edges tightly to seal them and ensure that none of the deliciousness escapes during baking.
Arrange the filled bombs on the prepared baking sheet, giving them enough space to puff up as they bake. Brush the tops lightly with the melted butter and sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on each one for added flavor.
Bake in your preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the bombs are golden brown and puffed up beautifully.
Once they’re done, allow the bombs to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. For an extra touch, drizzle with additional caramel sauce just before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with extra caramel sauce and whipped cream for a delightful treat.
