1fourth cupunsweetened dark chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper, ensuring there's an overhang on two sides for easy lifting later.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and almond butter. Mix well until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
Next, add the unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, sea salt, and pure vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir vigorously until all ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture appears uniform.
Gently fold in the rolled oats, and if desired, the chopped walnuts or pecans along with the dark chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Carefully pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking pan, using a spatula to spread it evenly across the bottom.
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The brownies are ready when the edges are firm, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean, with a few moist crumbs attached.
Once baked, allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Utilize the parchment paper overhang to lift them out gently.
After cooling completely, slice the brownies into 9 squares for serving. Enjoy!
Notes
For an elegant touch, dust the brownies lightly with cocoa powder before serving. A dollop of Greek yogurt can add a creamy contrast.
